Community Cohesion
As previously highlighted within our young person section, Fata He has extensive experience of working with young people and through the success of the Home Office funded Plymouth Community Cohesion Facilitation Multi-Agency Programme have continued to promote the benefits of Community Cohesion throughout the sub region of Devon and Cornwall. Fata He were also involved in reading and providing comments on the recently published and highly informative Community Cohesion Toolkit: An interactive practical toolkit to assist Government office and partners to maintain community cohesion through government funding streams (Babs Williams, GOSW Regional Community Cohesion Co-coordinator, 2005) (contained in GSOW website) which came about through three years of dialogue, debate and learning among committed individuals at a regional and local level. We continue to work closely with our colleagues within the Government Office for the South West (GOSW) particularly the Race Equality and Community Cohesion Team who are responsible for driving this policy across the region on behalf of central government.
Community Cohesion continues to be a valuable tool in engaging with all young people both black and white, and has been and continues to be extremely valuable in recognising inequalities and disadvantage among groups of young people and in addressing racism and discrimination through conflict resolution in a safe environment.
